What is involved in the treatment?

The procedure involves the injection of the filler into lips and is tailored to the unique lip shape and outcome. This is one of the most bespoke treatments involved in aesthetic medicine and we pride ourselves on achieving amazing results for our clients.

Is the treatment painful?

Before the procedure cream is applied to the lips to reduce pain and swelling. We only use fillers with contain local anesthetic however there is a degree of discomfort involved.

What is the typical procedure time?

The procedure typically takes 30-45 minutes.

What Filler will be used?

All lip fillers used at The Beauty Lab UK are THE market leader Juverderm. The patient has a few choices depending on their particular needs. Our current products include: Juverderm smile and Juverderm Volift, which is current latest break-through in filler technology and is commonly referred to on Harley Street as ‘Liquid Gold’.

How long does the treatment last?

The current recommendation by the manufacturer is that Juverderm filler can last up to 6 months. However, all individuals are different and some patients can experience early breakdown of the filler.

When do the results become visible and how long does the treatment last?

The results are visible immediately and will last for around 6-9 months depending on how your body naturally breaks down the filler.

Are there any side effects or complications?

Every procedure involves a certain amount of risk, and it is important that you understand that risks involved. An individual’s choice to undergo a procedure is based on the comparison of the risk to potential benefit. Although the majority of patients do not experience these complications, you should discuss each of them with your practitioner to make sure you understand the risks, potential complications, and consequences of dermal filler injections:

  • Infection

  • Discolouration
Can anyone have this procedure?

This procedure cannot be performed:

  • In Pregnancy or if you are currently breastfeeding
  • You have Infected skin areas e.g. cold sores/cellulitis etc
  • You are currently taking anticoagulant medication (e.g. Warfarin/Aspirin)
  • You have a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or any of its excipients e.g. Lidocaine
